Frank Thorvaldsson advises that Phil Greggor (PG) ex-commsop passed away on the 20 August. His funeral was in Bathurst on Wednesday 27th August. Phil was an Operator and had come over from the RAF. He was a well known and well liked member of the Tech/Operator community and our thoughts go out to his family on this very sad occasion. Neal Miller says of Phil, “I first met PG at ATTU Richmond in 1972 and got to know him very well. He was a really lovely bloke”.
Noel Hadfield advises that Ron Kerr died on Saturday 13 September 2008. His Funeral Service was held in Mornington, Vic on Thursday 18th September. Ron was an "honorary" RAAF engineer and was never an RAAF member as such. For many years, he worked in the drawing office at HQSC/HQLC and headed the department for a number of years before his retirement. For that reason, he was well known to RAAF engineers of most categories, especially those from the radio fraternity who served in Melbourne over a long period.
John Sambrooks advises:
Ernie Gimm advises that Bruce Findlater recently passed away. Bruce’s funeral was held in Rockhampton last Friday, 3 Oct. He was 67. Unfortunately, we have no further details.
