Directories.
When you hover your mouse pointer over a folder (directory??) icon, you see a pop-up that contains the folder's size and the names of the first few files or folders it contains. There are cases when this information, along with the folder's name, is helpful in identifying the folder's contents; however, there are other times when you have to open the folder to really see what's in it.
You can add a detailed explanation about the folder's contents to the pop-up by creating a Desktop.ini file, which is a straight text file, and adding a special entry to it. In order for this technique to work, you have to assign an icon to the folder. Here's how:
Note: If you don't see a pop-up when you mouse over a folder, you need to enable a couple of settings. Go to Tools | Folder Options and then select the View tab. Then, in the Advanced Settings list, select the check boxes for Display File Size Information In Folder Tips and Show Pop-Up Description For Folder And Desktop Items. Click OK. |

Bobby Fisher
Ever wondered what happened to Bobby Fisher, that champion chess player who leapt to fame in 1972 when he beat Boris Spassky of the then, Soviet Union, and then failed to contest the title in 1975.
Robert James, “Bobby” Fisher, a U.S. citizen, was wanted by the U.S. for playing chess against Boris Spassky in Yugoslavia in 1992, when it was socially and legally unacceptable to do so. Fischer won. He'd kept a low profile for several years, living undetected in Germany, the Philippines, Switzerland and Japan and was no fan of the U.S.
Fischer was caught in 2004 at Tokyo's Narita Airport, apparently with an invalid passport. He was detained at the Ushiku Immigration Detention centre in Japan and faced extradition to the US and a possible 10-year jail sentence as Japan shares an extradition treaty with the US, obliging them to hand over anyone sought by America who enters or lives in the country. He immediately applied for political asylum and appealed the extradition on grounds that he considered himself German as his father was German born.
After numerous appeals and political moves, Fisher was granted a residency permit for Iceland and was granted an Icelandic passport in 2005. |

A reporter was interviewing Jack Nicklaus. He said, "Jack, you are spectacular, your name is synonymous with the game of golf. You really know your way around the course. What is your secret?"......... To which Jack replied, "It’s easy—the holes are numbered!" |
The main purpose of holding children's parties is to remind yourself that there are children more awful than your own. |
